Our exhibit design firm is made up of a talented team of specialists with training and experience in everything from human interaction and product design to psychology, architecture and creative technologies. We’re particularly passionate about interactive virtual reality exhibits and serious games designed for social good.
Using good people and communication skills as well as a healthy dose of time management, I help see projects from conceptualisation to completion. It’s an incredibly rewarding position seeing the projects come to life and the fantastic responses from clients and audiences.
IT Support Technician
My role at Formula D is all about problem solving. I’ve got to figure out what makes every piece of new technology we bring in tick, and then figure out what’s made it stop when it does. I’m involved in daily maintenance of all the internal systems and machines.
Chief Executive Officer
I founded Formula D interactive in 2007 with the vision to explore the boundaries between physical and digital interaction with a strong focus on education and science communication.
Business Analyst Intern
As part of my dual degree in Management Science and Cognitive Sciences at MIT, I'm spending 6 months interning with Formula D interactive.
After joining Formula D interactive in 2010, I've been heavily involved in the process of building our company’s reputation as the best at what we do, building a team that is the best at what we do, and building relationships with clients who get the best work from us.
Any tech needed for a particular project, I jump into! This means – even with an undergrad in Electrical Engineers and a Masters in Digital Interactive Media – I’m still learning a lot on the job and through self-teaching using online resources. It’s constantly challenging but in the best kind of way!
I’m the first person in, in the morning, to make sure that the offices are spick and span and the kitchen is ready for people to use for breakfast and lunch. I also ensure that all our meeting rooms and other facilities are cleaned and presentable should clients be visiting.
Officially, I trained as a multimedia designer but I also do development, UX design, project management and an assortment of other things. Basically, anything to get the project done.
It's my responsibility to know where every cent is being spent at Formula D interactive as well as when money is due from clients for projects and work completed.

Being a product designer requires that you create solutions on multiple levels – repeatedly, until you reach the sweet spot where it all works together technically, aesthetically and realistically. The best part about this kind of work – especially at Formula D – is that you’re doing something for the very first time, every day.
After working as a facilitator for the Game Lab program, a division of the Learning Innovation Design Lab project, I accepted an internship at Formula D interactive to further my career in programming.
I'm the wordsmith involved in every project and on every brand touchpoint. I also get involved in brand management, project management and a smattering of game design where needed.
I move pixels around the screen. A lot of pixels. But, seriously, my role also involves a lot of oversight on all the projects in the company with a focus on detail and quality control. I bridge the divides in disciplines and ensure that everything we produce is of a very high standard.
Product Design Intern
Formula D integrates technology and design to produce extraordinary user experiences. I am interning here for 5 months to grow as an innovator and assist the team with their exciting work.
Jonathan du Toit
Video Effects Artist
I'm involved in doing everything needed to create the visual effects in our interactive digital projections or mobile and online applications. This can mean everything from animating interaction sequences or cut-scenes to 3D modelling and visual effects.
Interactive Media Developer
I'm involved in everything from web design to game design and development. I’m particularly passionate about serious and educational games so I’m always first to leap at an opportunity to work on those projects.
Software Development Engineer
From software architectural design, game, web and mobile development to digital interactive museum installations, I'm passionate about creating inspiring interactive experiences for all ages.
